the prewar reconstruction cost was quoted to be covered by the iraqis, not us

It's funny how the American left believes surrender is the best way to stop terrorism, yet Isreal is now dealing with the violent consequences of their display of weakness by their surrender of the West Bank in 2005.
It's funny how the American left professes to support freedom and democracy... until the US government does something to create it.
It's funny how the American left never seems to care what something will cost... until it comes to freeing people from dictators.
It's funny how the left tells us that there's no connection between Iraq and terrorism... but then cries for America to surrender because Al-Queda is killing too many soldiers.
It's funny how the broad-minded left believes terrorism is rooted in and only in Usama Bin-Laden. It's funny how they profess to think about things so deeply yet fail to see the connections between radical Islam and the Middle East.
It's funny how the left defines peace in Iraq to mean surrendering to the terrorist organizations that they said don't exist there in the first place. It's also funny how they want peace so bad but you don't see them protesting in Iraq!
Fortunately Isreal's misstep last year was not followed up with Comrade Kerry-style weakness. Unfortunately due to the leftwing elements in the US (and especially in the press) I doubt we'll ever be able to take care of the problems in Iran until the situation is so grave that even the most closedminded Bay Area socialist can see it... And I don't think that's even possible.
who is a terrorist? what about someone who is ordered to drive a bulldozer over the homes of some palestinians, and a little american girl named rachel corrie stands in his way, and he drives his bulldozer over her, killing her, before he destroys the homes? i would call him worse than a terrorist, but that's not politically correct because he's jewish, and only muslims can be terrorists. the war on terror is conflated with a war on islam. america has not freed afghanistan or iraq, but they have brought "freedom" which is code for their brand of christianity. the us does not create democracy, they install friendly folks to do business with. what's funny is listening to chickenhawks squaking about war when they didn't have the balls to serve when they were young. i'm not defending islam, religion is the root of all evil in this world, we would all be better off without it, too bad that's not going to happen in this lifetime
